Training and Teaching

For 20 years, I have been involved in a government program to rehabilitate victims of violence and work with those who commit violence. I have supervised psychologists working in legal systems and assessed the psycho-emotional state of victims for court cases. For over 30 years, I have been helping people experiencing loss and incurable diseases.

Training and supervision of psychologists

I have also conducted training and supervision for psychologists and staff of penitentiary institutions, as well as for workers of crisis centers in Latvia. For over 20 years, I have been a mediator at the request of the court for families in crisis situations. My experience includes not only individual therapy, but also conducting group trainings and supervisions for therapists. In 2019–2021, together with a colleague from the USA, I conducted group trainings on schema therapy for specialists.

I have managed a psychological support centre and a regional crisis centre for the rehabilitation of victims of violence. I have conducted trainings for organisations such as Statoil, the Prosecutor's Office, the Ministry of the Interior, the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Child Protection. I have taught and supervised programmes in psychology and social work at the university, and developed methodological materials for working with victims of violence and people experiencing loss.

Private practice and supervision

I currently have a private practice, specializing in schema therapy for personality disorders and counseling couples with relationship problems. I also provide supervision and training for schema therapists.
